Zander and Melody. Chemistry off the charts. Steamy sex scenes.
The book starts out three years previous, you see the interactions between the MCs and you can tell that they have chemistry. Alas, Melody is Zander's Best Friend's Younger Sister, and according to "Bro-Code" completely off limits, so Zander tries to put her out of his mind.
Then tragedy strikes and Melody ends up on tour with their band Rebel Riot. Of course with the addition of close quarters and all that sexual tension things come to a head.
The author makes you feel for Mel and the tragedy of losing her stepbrother/bandmate, the depression that follows and the loss of her muse. She is questioning if she ever wants to get back on stage again with her band, and thinks going on tour with Rebel Riot will help her in thay regard. I will say that I was pissed at Mel towards the end of the book, when the book reaches the climax, Zander makes a choice, and Mel is upset, and the way she responds to him, just makes me so upset. He kept presuing her even when he thought all hope was lost and she feels she has the right to be upset with him after she ignored him for months? No, just no.
Eventually, they get their happily ever after, but it's only because of Zander. Mel was fully ready to move on and (not accept) but concede that they were not going to be together. That pissed me off. If she was as in love with him and she claimed from the beginning of the book and took his advice to heart about "fighting for what you want." Then they both would have fought for each other instead of Zander putting in all the work.
I did enjoy the book! Thought it was really well written. That one aspect if my only complaint.
