Not What I Expected but HOLY WOW!

I started the book thinking, based on the blurb that the heroine gets attacked once, then sets out to prove the attack happens, and meets the hero along the way. What I wasn’t expecting was everything that happened after. Yes, their love story happened really fast, considering the circumstances, and the fact that trauma bonds people like nothing else. I’d say that’s to be expected. The villain though… the way the author completely captured the way that privilege can keep people from paying for their actions, can make it so victims aren’t believed because someone is charming or has money, or their parents hold a lot of power. That was captured so accurately here. I was on the edge of my seat. Waiting for the next thing to happen, hoping that the heroine would keep being strong and able to fight and overcome. Can I just say that though the hero helped her by adding his own voice to hers… she showed so much inner strength in the face of all the challenges she faced throughout the book. I would 100% recommend this book to anyone that could handle it. It comes with trigger warnings so keep that in mind, overall, a great read.
